Product Introduction

EMP250DS-T1800

The EMP250DS-T1800 is capable of producing 160 kW continuous power and 250 kW peak power. The weight of this integrated unit is 26kg, and its compact volume is 39.8 cm (diameter) by 20 cm (length). It is currently a veryTorque-dense electric engine of its class, with torque density at 69 Nm/kg. Configured in the EM-POWER patent-pending DSSRPT (Dual-Stator Single-Rotor Power-dense Technology) without gear box, with power-electronics satisfying aviation standards (certifiable by EASA and CAAC) and complete with high-density proprietary winding technology, designed with triple redundancy, this unit is air cooled. The performance specs summary of the EMP250DS-T1800 is shown below.

The EMP250DS-T1800 motor can output 160Kwcontinuous power and250Kwpeak power. This integrated motor weighs only26Kg, compact size provides39.8cm(diameter)×20cm(length).As the motor with the highest torque density in its class, its torque density reaches69Nm/Kg. This motor adopts EM-POWER patent pending DSSRPT (Dual Stator Single RotorHighPowerdensitytechnology) design, gearless configuration, power electronics system complies with aviation standards (available EASA and Civil Aviation Administration of China certification),and is equipped with high-density patented winding technology to achieve aviation-safetripleredundancy guarantee, using air cooling. The performance parameters of the EMP250DS-T1800 are detailed in abovetable.

The EMP250DS-T1800 electric machine with integrated inverter for motor control offerstriple redundancy for aviation safety. The integrated system is designed with minimum distance between the electric machine and the integrated control electronics which minimizes loss and maximizes efficiency. Further, the scalable modular electronics with fast switching Silicon Carbide (SIC) technology combined with short shielded current paths yield highest performance required for high torque aircraft propulsion.

EMP250DS-T1800The motor control system with integrated inverter provides for aviation safetythreeheavy redundancy. The integrated system adopts a design with minimal distance between the motor and integrated control electronics, minimizing losses and improving efficiency. In addition, fast-switching silicon carbide (SIC) technology scalable modular electronic equipment, combined with short shielded current paths, achieves the highest performance required for high-torque aircraft propulsion systems.

There are three interface connections from the EMP250DS-T1800 to the aircraft system. Two of them are for DC BUS power cables, one positive and one negative. The third connection is for the data cable.

In summary, the core advantage of the EMP250DS-T1800 system is in its high torque density (69 Nm/kg), high power density (9.6 kW/kg), and the high volumetric torque density. The high torque density allows for the use of propellors at lower RPM thereby reducing the noise especially for the large torque required during take-off. The higher power density allows for higher efficiency which reduces the weight required for the battery system which is an important indirect impact to the overall weight of the aircraft, and it allows for more weight for the payload. Lastly, the high volumetric density translates to less aerodynamic drag for the aircraft, saving additional energy from lift thrust for higher range and/ or payload!

In summary,EMP250DS-T1800The three core advantages of the system lie in its high torque density (64.3Nm/Kg), high power density (9.6KW/Kg) as well as high volumetric torque density. High torque density allows the propeller to operate at lower speeds, effectively reducing noise— especially when high torque is needed during takeoff. The product's quite high power density reduces the weight of the battery system (which has an important indirect impact on the overall aircraft weight), while also freeing up more space for payload. Finally, high volumetric torque density means less aerodynamic drag for the aircraft, saving extra energy in lift thrust, thereby enabling longer range and/or larger payload!
