This integrated system uses a design with minimal distance between the motor and integrated control electronics to minimize losses and improve efficiency. Furthermore, the use of fast-switching Silicon Carbide(SiC) technology's scalable modular electronics, combined with short shielded current paths, achieve the highest performance required for high-torque aircraft propulsion systems.

EMP250DS1-T1800 has three interface connections with the aircraft system. Two interfaces are for DC bus power lines, corresponding to positive and negative poles respectively; the third interface is for data lines.
